Sergey Brin And Larry PageThe impact of Google

1) Why has Google led to the decline of the newspaper industry?

As majority of people in the world has internet on their phone or their computer so the purchasing of newspaper is not useful as typing a word in to Google can results in a millions of newspaper, blogs, videos, images so its basically everything in one.

2) Do you personally think Google is to blame for newspapers closing and journalists losing their jobs? Why?

Yes as everyone uses Google to find something out rather than waiting for tomorrows paper. Its accessible every you go and anywhere whatever time you want.So they closing and journalists losing their jobs is because none needing newspapers so they are not making any money back that they are paying the journalists.

3) Read the comments below the article. Pick one comment you agree with and one you disagree with and justify your opinions in detail.

1)You can’t single out Google just because it’s the largest digital company. Patch, for example, invested hundreds of millions into journalism in the US and continues to search for the model that will work going forward. There are many who are investing in the future of journalism.

I agree with this comments as the article really is singling out Google in is not talking about any other search engines or big media institutions that have cancelled out journalism.Such as social networking has cancelled out journalism as there are sourced on twitter to help us found out things much quicker as we follow them it pops up on our time line. This the future of journalism it means anyone with a phone can be  journalist and can get recognition as the post picture and videos and give in depth analysis if what happened.people will take interest in this.

2)Sorry, you didn’t convince me. So what if they didn’t invent the Internet. They did figure out a good way to advertise on other people’s content without sharing anything with the people who did the work. They could have built a system that actually paid the content creators. They could have tossed in a microcent every time someone clicked on a search link. But no, they kept ALL of the money for themselves. And they still do it. They seem to think that Google News is a service. It’s just a leech on the hard-working reporters.

this article i disagree with as its trying to journalist should be getting paid by google as people are searching for there articles on Google. This is unfair as Google is where people want to find things out and Google in the most popular search engine where it brings what you searched in to thousands of different media text.Even though they have other peoples content they still are able to see the article on their website and so they still get the recognition they need.
