Music streaming just became a billion-dollar industry

South Korean speedskater Lee Kyou-Hyuk trains at the Adler Arena Skating Center during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, RussiaRevenues from streaming songs on the internet has passed $1bn for the first time, new figures have shown.

The article talks about how digital streaming music as become so big and made so much money over the past years.
  • Digital music streaming has grown is taking over

  • Streaming revenue as a whole surpassed $1bn in the first half of the year for the first time
  • Spotify is the most popular
  • customers pay for subscriptions and have access to all the songs, albums and mixtapes in the world
  • CD's ,then iTunes and now streaming has taken over
In my opinion this is a great thing for the music industry and the fans of music as we can stream anything just by our subscriptions. Some musician such as Taylor swift said she didn't want her music to be on their she thought it would not generate enough revenue for herself but look now.She is probably not happy about this because everyone streams music nowadays.
